How this site is checked

National averages come from the government's weekly road fuel price series. EV figures come from the published Zapmap Price Index with the month named. Station level prices come only from the official Fuel Finder open data file, published twice a day under the Open Government Licence, never scraped, and every price carries the time the forecourt set it. The typical petrol and diesel figures on the front page are the median of every forecourt in that file, with the range most forecourts fall in. Distances are straight line miles from the centre of your postcode district, and postcode district centres come from the public domain GeoNames gazetteer.

Nothing on this site is estimated. Where a figure is an average, it says so and says whose. No commission is taken on anything today; if that ever changes it will be disclosed on the page it affects. And no account or app will ever be required to see a price, because hiding public data behind a signup is exactly what the open data law ended.
